Neurofeedback has been shown to be effective in treating a wide variety of conditions including ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Pain, Headaches, symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress, Memory and Recall problems, Sleep Disorders, and Traumatic Brain Injuries/Concussions
Extraordinary Times Call for Extraordinary Brains!
Empower your brain with Neurofeedback Training to
decrease anxiety, sleep better, enhance focus, and more!
Dr. Kate Truitt & Associate’s At-home Neurofeedback Training Program is designed to give patients the greatest access to neurofeedback training with use of standardized, research-backed protocols. It is conducted entirely via electronic means, and sessions can be monitored, progress tracked, and protocols adjusted by the clinician throughout the training process, with weekly check-ins via FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, VSee, etc. to monitor progress.
Our unique program Supports your emotional health and wellbeing and helps “flatten the curve” - we will ship you an at-home neurofeedback training kit and empowering you to begin enhancing brain health from the comfort of your home.
More frequent brain training sessions from the comfort and safety of your own home often allows you to see changes more rapidly, and thus address anxiety, worry, pain, fatigue, and low mood that can accompany times of stress from a brain-basis. As we are navigating these complex times, we are grateful to be able to provide patients access to neurofeedback training to guide your brain and Central Nervous System to become more balanced, regulated, and healthy.
Neurofeedback is a brain learning modality. This means that through practice of more efficient, balanced brain activity during training sessions, the brain learns a new way of being.Patients who utilize neurofeedback training to address anxiety (generalized, social, and health anxiety), insomnia, and depression report feeling more calm and peaceful, and better able to navigate this troubling time. What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a method of optimizing brain functioning through rebalancing of the brain’s electrical patterns. It is both non-invasive and non-pharmaceutical. The brain plays a vital role in managing our biopsychosocial functioning, and difficult symptoms can be seen in atypical brainwave patterns.Targeting brainwaves directly can be reduce difficult symptoms as well as reduce stress and enhance professional, sporting, and artistic performance. Neurofeedback has been shown to be effective in treating a wide variety of conditions including ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Chronic Pain/Headaches, Symptoms of PTSD, Memory and Recall problems, Sleep Disorders, and Traumatic Brain Injuries/Concussions.
What is a Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG)?
A quantitative EEQ (qEEG) is a test that gathers data about brain function to inform and monitor treatment. A qEEG takes approximately [30-40] minutes and is performed by a trained clinician placing a cap with 20 electrodes on the scalp of the patient. The electrodes sit on the surface of the skin and measure electrical activity beneath them, which is then translated into a visual representation of each frequency in the brain. This data is analyzed to find clinically significant outliers within brainwaves. It is these outliers that are often associated with symptoms such as low mood, lack of motivation, inability to focus, anxiousness, brainfog, etc. With consultation between the practitioner and patient, is it typically these outlier frequencies that become the targets for Neurofeedback Training.
What is Neurofeedback Training?
Neurofeedback Training is an intervention where brain activity is measured and made more efficient through real-time feedback to the brain. A brain training protocol based on a clinical exam and on the data gathered from the qEGG (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) is instituted through a sophisticated software program. Electrodes placed on the scalp record brainwave function and send information back to the brain through an auditory or visual stimulus when brainwaves are in the targeted frequency. Brainwaves are trained the desired direction through rewards generated by changes in the audio/visual stimulus. Over time and through its natural bent toward regulation, the brain can retrain itself to function within optimal frequencies, and symptoms can be reduced.

Neurofeedback can be a stand-alone treatment, or incorporated into psychotherapy, combining brain training with exploration and resolution of underlying cognitive and relational patterns.
The principles of Neurofeedback were discovered accidentally in the 1960’s by a scientist named Barry Sterman while studying the toxic effects of rocket fuel on brain function for NASA. Inexplicably, some of the animals in the experiment showed no symptoms of seizures when exposed to the toxin. Sterman later discovered these were the same animals he had used during a previous experiment whose brainwaves had been trained to optimize in a certain frequency.
Neurofeedback training can be used to optimize performance and reduce stress in professional/corporate, sporting, and artistic realms. Protocols can be designed to enhance desired brain functions, such as focus, ability to access Flowstates, and reduce anxiety.
